SERVICE OVERVIEW

Reduce system oil losses through high-efficiency piston rod sealing and scraping technology.

HERSS is a High Efficiency Piston Rod Sealing and Scraping System designed to improve the performance of conventional piston rod stuffing boxes in 2-stroke marine engines.

The system uses an optimized polymer sealing and scraper ring arrangement to maintain effective contact with the piston rod, including worn piston rod surfaces, helping reduce oil leakage and unnecessary system oil consumption.

According to the supplied HERSS technical material, system oil consumption may be reduced by approximately 60–80% compared with the original arrangement, depending on operating conditions and piston rod condition. The system is particularly positioned as an effective solution where excessive oil consumption is associated with significant piston rod wear. HERSS also provides enhanced protection against scavenge fire and is designed for easier maintenance compared with conventional multi-component stuffing box arrangements.
